June Roses – Stop and Smell the Flowers

June Roses – Stop and Smell the Flowers

It’s June and roses are already blooming.
People are getting married, teenagers are going to prom, and students are graduating from high school and college.
Very importantly, it will be Father’s Day, June 18th  {{{{{drum roll}}}}}.
Oh, and lest we forget, the next June solstice will fall at 14:58 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) at Greenwich England; and at 9:58 a.m. CDT (Central Daylight Time), on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Note: on this solstice, the sun will be directly overhead at noon as viewed from the Tropic of Cancer. For us in the Northern Hemisphere, the June solstice marks the shortest nights and longest days of the year. Whew!
To say things are blooming is an understatement. So many folks had to postpone weddings, family celebrations, and delay school achievements. Not to mention graduation celebrations.
My staff had the challenge of trying to book hotels for events. All were full because so many folks were trying to make up for the last two years when they had planned important celebrations.
Many things have changed. Still, however, I would be remiss in sharing for many who have lost loved ones. Those celebrations can be painful, even being reluctant to reschedule. I totally understand, however, let me at my two cents. I have learned over and over that our loved ones in spirit want to celebrate. Share with your loved ones that are still here. Don’t worry, those in spirit will show up and see the smiles on everyone’s faces. They still want to be part of welcoming a new baby after seeing their daughter or son sharing their new life as the family is extended. Aren’t sharing special connections with those we love and want to be part of?
There is truth in what you call your family. The movie, “The Way,” was actually the originally released in 2010. It is now released again noting that the film is very timely. It stars Emilio Estevez and his dad Martin Sheen. It’s a story of a father and son, played by a real father and son. Actually quite fitting for Father’s Day.
I’ve seen clips and have read some reviews, showing some beautiful depth of relationships. I won’t give the plot away, but the movie truly speaks for itself. You know me, every now and then a movie I feel is so fitting of life, love, and loss; and yes perfect for Father’s Day.
I’m doing lots of fun events this month of June. The most exciting event is my return to Omega for an event with Austyn Wells. We’ve been wanting to do a weekend event there for a long time, and this year it will be. Of course, there are other cool things that are happening this month as well including online readings with Austyn on June 13th and Thomas John on June 29th if you can’t make it up to Rhinebeck, NY.
Happy Summer!
Love,
Suzane
