We all certainly know what a lion winter is after this winter!
Especially those that live in the midwest, the mountainous west, and the northeast. I bet you’ll all be really looking forward to the first day of spring on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 5:01 a.m. EDT (2:01 a.m. Pacific). For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, this is marked by the arrival of the ✨ Spring Equinox ✨ (otherwise known as the “First Point of Aries”).
As we enter the season of spring with sparks, energy and a new skip in our steps, it may just inspire us to follow our dreams, or our heart. We all know it isn’t always that easy to follow our hearts, yes, follow our hearts, and revisit those dreams we’ve always wanted to manifest. How can we take the next step into how, why, and what we can do to make that happen? I will add, we just finished the month of the heart, and now we have the opportunity of spring to follow up and put our energy into that dream. ✨
These thoughts remind me of what happened to so many folks during 9/11. Many people lost their jobs, homes, not even to mention their loved ones. I remember so many conversations with so many folks during that time. At one event, someone shouted out, “Will I ever get my money back?” Another said, “My family had to move in with their parents.” Others experienced the deepest loss, a dad, mom, son, daughter, a sibling or a dear friend. I tell you what did happen, many of those folks who lost their jobs, for example, started doing something that they had always wanted to do. It started many, many folks to start new careers, new businesses, doing what they had done as a hobby, and a profession.
These thoughts and actions always need reminding, words when asked at many on their deathbed. I just recently reread these spoken words from a nurse who spoke to loved ones who were about to pass/cross over. The nurse asked them what was their number one regret: I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me. This was the most common regret of all. When people realize that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people have not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.
It is very important to try and honor at least some of your dreams along the way. Unfortunately, when you begin to lose your health, it is often too late. Health brings a freedom very few realize, until they no longer have it.
When these thoughts and dreams come to mind, it is inspiring to see how life comes alive from winter into spring. There is not a person alive who doesn’t feel it, who wants to play hooky and quite literally “smell” the flowers. Don’t wait until at your “death-bed” to smell the flowers, follow a dream, at least attempt to try.
We should not forget one of the “most” fun March festivities is good ole St Patty’s Day! One can listen to Celtic music, an Irish gig, have a beer, and wear green. It is truly a fun holiday and very much celebrated, certainly in NY, St Patrick’s Day Parade, and Boston. I was in Savannah, Georgia a few years ago where I learned that St. Patty’s Day was a huge celebration. In NY there are anywhere from 100 to 200 thousand folks marching with 2 million spectators! You can be sure as well every pub is filled to the brim with people laughing and having fun, while listening to bagpipes and the crowd singing, Oh Danny Boy!
I know someone whose husband went way beyond celebrating this holiday with a closet filled with his favorite choice of kilts!
Nothing like guys showing off those bare legs! If you’d never thought about it, bagpipes are very hard to play if you don’t have a good set of lungs. I’m giving my personal toast to all of you to celebrate the beginning of spring to everyone!
I’m getting ready to go dancing in spring with lots of in-person events. I’ll be returning to California for the first time in a few years.
two in-person galleries with Thomas John and myself:
two small-group sessions in person with me:
Happy Spring to everyone…
Love,
